Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Category Manager to join our Central Procurement team at Royal Holloway University of London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of procurement plans and strategies for key areas of non-pay expenditure, with a focus on delivering value-for-money and improved services for our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies to maximize value for money and improve services for students
- Lead the management of non-pay expenditure, including the development of sourcing strategies and the negotiation of contracts
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize procurement opportunities and develop business cases to support investment decisions
- Manage complex procurement projects, including tender documentation, evaluation, and contract award processes
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement and sourcing, with a focus on category management and strategic sourcing
- Strong project management skills, with experience in managing complex procurement projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Good understanding of procurement best practice and regulatory requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
