Our client, allen-associates, is seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Assistant to enhance their dynamic and dedicated team. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in stock management while enjoying both independence and support from a knowledgeable manager.

Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Assistant

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, this position is not your typical procurement role. The Assistant will be tasked with ordering, organizing, and overseeing laboratory supplies, serving as the primary contact for stock control and management, as well as ensuring compliance with internal and external audit standards. Responsibilities also include managing uniform provisions and overseeing hazardous waste protocols. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and managing risk effectively.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a proactive approach and meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven experience and understanding of stock management in a Biotech or Pharmaceutical environment
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, e-commerce platforms, and purchasing and supply management software
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, due to the reporting nature of the role
  • Educational qualifications equivalent to A-levels
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of anticipating the needs of others while maintaining smooth operations in stock management and compliance
