As the Windows Systems Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of MHR's dynamic Cloud Services Team. You will provide technical direction and oversight across a vast array of technologies, including Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, Dell, and other enterprise solutions.

Your leadership will guide a team of skilled professionals, enhancing efficiency, innovation, and dependability within our Windows environment. Your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping our infrastructure strategy and ensuring uninterrupted operations to support our hosted services utilized by millions of users across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee operational delivery and management of the MHR Windows infrastructure and related systems.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technical systems engineers.
  • Formulate strategies to enhance system performance, reliability, and security.
  • Manage the rollout of updates, patches, and enhancements to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Drive process enhancements and automation initiatives to optimize workflows and boost efficiency.
  • Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to reduce downtime.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, proposing innovative solutions to improve our infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and associated technologies.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V) and cloud services (Azure).
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
  • Expertise in PowerShell scripting for automation, configuration management, and system administration tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with SAP Business Objects and Data Services is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Cisco networking technologies, including switches and protocols.
  • Working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls for network security and access control is desirable.
  • Experience in configuring and managing F5 load balancers to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Understanding of enterprise storage systems over Fibre Channel is a plus.
