As the Windows Systems Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of MHR's high-performing Cloud Services Team. You will provide technical direction and oversight across a vast array of technologies, including Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, Dell, and other enterprise solutions.

Your leadership will guide a team of skilled professionals, enhancing efficiency, innovation, and dependability within our Windows environment. Your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping our infrastructure strategy and ensuring smooth operations that support our hosted services, utilized by millions across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee operational delivery and management of the MHR Windows infrastructure and related systems.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technical system engineers.
  • Formulate strategies to enhance system performance, reliability, and security.
  • Manage the deployment of updates, patches, and enhancements to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Provide technical mentorship to team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Drive process enhancements and automation initiatives to optimize workflows and boost efficiency.
  • Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to reduce downtime.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to improve our infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and associated technologies.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V) and cloud services (Azure).
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a talent for motivating and inspiring others.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tackling technical challenges.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation, configuration management, and system administration tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with Cisco networking technologies, including switches and protocols.
  • Working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls for network security and access control is desirable.
  • Experience configuring and managing F5 load balancers to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Understanding of enterprise storage systems over Fibre Channel is advantageous.
