In the role of Windows Systems Operations Leader, you will be an integral part of MHR's high-performing Cloud Services Team. You will provide technical direction and oversight across a vast infrastructure that includes Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, Dell, and other enterprise technologies.
Your leadership will guide a team of skilled professionals, enhancing efficiency, innovation, and dependability within our Windows environment. Your expertise will play a vital role in shaping our infrastructure strategy and ensuring smooth operations to support our hosted services utilized by millions across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee operational delivery and management of the MHR Windows infrastructure and related systems.
- Lead and mentor a team of technical system engineers.
- Formulate strategies to enhance system performance, reliability, and security.
- Manage the rollout of updates, patches, and enhancements to minimize operational disruptions.
- Provide technical mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
- Initiate process enhancements and automation projects to optimize workflows and boost efficiency.
- Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to reduce downtime.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, proposing innovative solutions to enhance our infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and associated technologies.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V) and cloud services (Azure).
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation, configuration management, and system administration tasks.
- Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with SAP Business Objects and Data Services is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Cisco networking technologies, including switches and protocols.
- Working experience with Palo Alto firewalls for network security and access control is desirable.
- Experience in configuring and managing F5 load balancers to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Understanding of enterprise storage systems over Fibre Channel is a plus.
