Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, United Kingdom Hilton Foods Full time

Position Title:
Quality Auditor

Compensation:
Competitive Salary

Shift: 6 AM to 2 PM (with Flexibility)

About Our Company:

At Hilton Foods, we pride ourselves on our dedicated workforce, as our employees are the cornerstone of our success.

We possess extensive expertise across various categories, emphasizing quality and innovation. Our commitment is to deliver what our customers require and what consumers desire, driven by expert knowledge and a growth-oriented mindset.
Our journey began with meat, and we have since cultivated a leading position in the Seafood sector, recognized globally for our unmatched quality. We continually invest in cutting-edge technology to enhance value, efficiency, and consumer-focused innovative solutions.

What We Seek:
We are in search of a skilled and knowledgeable Quality Auditor to become a vital part of our expanding Technical team.

In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring compliance and enhancing processes across all site operations and products, contributing to the production of safe and legally compliant products.

The ideal candidate will uphold and consistently enhance the technical standards established internally, by Hilton Foods, and by our retail partners, acting as champions in promoting a Quality Culture throughout the site.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the QA Supervisor during their absence. Guide and assist in training key production personnel on food safety protocols. Promote food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards across both low and high-risk areas, supporting the listeria management plan. Oversee the setup and programming of Metal Detectors, X-rays (where applicable), and checkweighers for both new and existing products, ensuring optimal settings. Assist in investigating incidents and gathering data for internal reviews, enabling thorough risk assessments and preventive measures. Support the coding, label management, and verification processes, promptly addressing issues with the relevant departments to ensure accuracy.

Conduct thorough checks on production documentation and verify Critical Control Point (CCP) records, ensuring that any errors or training needs are identified and communicated across shifts, with any deviations thoroughly investigated to support continuous improvement and minimize recurrence.

Ensure adherence to both factory and product sampling plans, guaranteeing that samples (including water) and swabs are collected as required and accurately recorded in the laboratory system. Perform 'Value Adding' GMP, post-hygiene, and compliance audits that reflect both adherence and ongoing improvement across the site.

Ensure effective communication of results and action plans throughout the factory.

Conduct CCP audits and disseminate findings to broader teams during DRM meetings. Assist in updating and issuing internal specifications and approving new specifications as part of the New Product Development (NPD) process. Help update production and technical documentation, ensuring the correct versions are utilized across relevant departments. Participate in the site's HACCP and TACCP teams. Support the implementation of customer codes of practice, ensuring internal procedures align accurately. Ensure compliance with allergen verification and segregation controls across the site. Manage nonconforming stock, both systematically and physically, in line with site protocols. Authorize concessions when deviations from processes cannot be controlled.

Utilize root cause analysis to prevent deviations from becoming standard practice, ensuring significant deviations are escalated for approval.

Assist Quality Management in completing annual validations per the defined schedule. Conduct monthly checks on glass and hard plastic items, identifying areas of non-compliance to the relevant departments within the DRM.

Conduct traceability exercises according to the predefined schedule and provide necessary documentation to support thorough investigations of customer complaints, including process traceability paperwork that identifies corrective and preventive actions taken.

Conduct compliance and improvement audits against BRC and customer codes of practice as per the required schedule. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Technical/Quality department and across the broader organization. Attend NPD trials and generate reports that highlight insights and potential enhancements for future trials.
Required Qualifications:

Experience in Quality Assurance within a fast-paced chilled environment. Familiarity with retailer codes of practice. Proven experience in QA systems, both in implementation and continuous enhancement.
What We Offer:
A competitive package including generous holiday allowance, life assurance of at least two times the annual salary, opportunities for professional development and internal advancement, a Share Save scheme, free on-site parking, a subsidized canteen, and enhanced maternity/paternity benefits.
