About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Expert in Digital Transformation to join our team at BT Group. As a key member of our Research and Network Strategy team, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and transformation across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Innovation: Conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify opportunities for digital transformation and develop innovative solutions to drive business value.
  • Technical Expertise: Leverage your expertise in network orchestration, automation, and AI/ML to design and build prototypes, and develop proof-of-concepts.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, network operations, and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Communication and Storytelling: Develop compelling stories and presentations to communicate research findings and technical expertise to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Supervise graduate and post-graduate student placements and secondments, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Requirements
  • Strong Academic Record: A strong academic record in a technology specialism, with a post-graduate qualification (PhD or equivalent research experience).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and APIs, as well as experience with network automation and orchestration frameworks.
  • Business Acumen: A good understanding of business case principles and the ability to communicate technical expertise to business stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Proven experience in leading research projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and managing stakeholders.
