The Opportunity

At Leonardo, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Support Engineer to join our team within the Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business. The CS3 line of business operates across the UK, providing innovative and invaluable support solutions to our customers. We help to ensure the availability of front-line capability wherever and whenever required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out standard serviceability testing, fault finding, and repair on RADAR, Defensive Aids Sub-System (DASS), and Avionics equipment.
  • Liaise daily with the CMF Manager, Bay Lead, and Logistics team to understand priorities for repair activities.
  • Work with the management of the UK aspect of the spares supply system and consumables, highlighting any deficiencies to CMF Manager, Bay Lead, and Logistics team.
  • Meet all contractual and local requirements associated with Governance, SHE, Training, and general good engineering practices.
  • Identify and report risks and opportunities for the business, its operations, and support to subsequent activities.
  • Provide support drafting and compliance of Maintenance Approved Organisation scheme (MAOS) Approved documentation.
  • Adhere to documented methods of work as defined by the Leonardo Joint Avionics Service (JAS) Contract and Coningsby CMF Manager.
Requirements
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, with the aptitude to learn new skills while striving for excellence in engineering.
  • Ability to work under broad direction, with minimal supervision, in challenging technical environments.
  • Manage workload in pressurised environments, across multiple tasks, ensuring a quality output to meet customer demands.
  • Communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute and adapt to change and continuous improvement.
  • Adept at adopting an innovative approach.
  • Will to travel to company sites for work and training.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with Technical Diagnostic Test Equipment, including MS Software Packages.
  • Previous experience of working within an Avionics second-line Maintenance Facility and/or working on Typhoon aircraft RADAR and DASS systems.
  • ONC (Ordinary National Certificate) in an electrical, digital electronics, Avionics discipline or equivalent/relevant experience.

The site requires a high level of security clearance.
