About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Support Engineer to join our team at Leonardo. As a Senior Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability of front-line capability wherever and whenever required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform standard serviceability testing, fault finding, and repair on RADAR, Defensive Aids Sub-System (DASS), and Avionics equipment.
  • Liaise daily with the management team, logistics team, and BAE Systems teams to understand priorities for repair activities.
  • Work with the management of the UK aspect of the spares supply system and consumables, highlighting any deficiencies to the management team.
  • Meet all contractual and local requirements associated with governance, safety, health, and environmental (SHE) regulations, training, and good engineering practices.
  • Identify and report risks and opportunities for the business, its operations, and support to subsequent activities.
  • Provide support drafting and compliance of Maintenance Approved Organisation scheme (MAOS) approved documentation.
  • Adhere to documented methods of work as defined by the Leonardo Joint Avionics Service (JAS) Contract and Coningsby CMF Manager.

  • Ability to work under broad direction, with minimal supervision, in challenging technical environments.
  • Manage workload in pressurised environments, across multiple tasks, ensuring a quality output to meet customer demands.
  • Communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute and adapt to change and continuous improvement.
  • Adept at adopting an innovative approach.
  • Travel to company sites for work and training.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with technical diagnostic test equipment, including MS software packages.
  • Previous experience of working within an Avionics second-line maintenance facility and/or working on Typhoon aircraft RADAR and DASS systems.
  • ONC (Ordinary National Certificate) in an electrical, digital electronics, Avionics discipline or equivalent/relevant experience.
