About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Torness Power Station. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the power station.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks to ensure the power station operates efficiently and safely.
- Report any safety, environmental, or plant issues promptly, using established station processes.
- Ensure maintenance activities do not have a negative impact on the environment.
- Perform maintenance tasks safely and update procedures as needed, providing feedback on plant condition to improve the effectiveness of the maintenance program.
- Participate actively in personal performance appraisals and deliver personal development plans.
- Work flexibly within teams under the daily direction of the Maintenance Team Leader.
- Report operational or reportable issues directly to your Supervisor or control function.
- Participate in Emergency Scheme duties, receiving full training.
Requirements
- Relevant training and experience in the trade you are applying for, with an apprenticeship and/or HNC being beneficial.
- A 'can do' attitude towards daily workload and a team-work approach to finding solutions.
- Good team working and team building skills, with a willingness to work flexibly within your range of competencies.
