Senior Actuarial Consultant

Aon is seeking a Senior Actuarial Consultant to become a vital part of our Specialty team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified actuary with extensive experience in (re)insurance, focusing on technical modeling and financial analysis for various UK and international reinsurers and specialty sectors, including marine, energy, terrorism, and aviation.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Actuarial Consultant, your main duties will encompass:
  • Preparing and analyzing data for actuarial purposes
  • Conducting reinsurance pricing and analytical assessments
  • Building and testing actuarial models
  • Presenting findings and strategic advice to clients and brokers
  • Engaging in actuarial research and development initiatives
  • Training and mentoring junior team members
  • Promoting actuarial knowledge within the organization
  • Collaborating effectively within a team and with client stakeholders
  • Demonstrating a commitment to personal and team growth
  • Fostering strong relationships with clients and market participants
  • Identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and increased responsibilities
  • Ensuring compliance with Aon’s Risk Management Framework and policies, including risk management training and adherence to best practices.

Candidate Profile:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
  • A strong numerical background, ideally with a minimum 2.1 degree, along with experience in (re)insurance pricing, reserving, or capital modeling
  • Qualification as an actuary (FIA or equivalent)
  • Preferred experience in the London market or reinsurance
  • Robust analytical skills with a focus on data analysis and manipulation
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts
  • Strong time management abilities, adept at handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective project management skills, with a clear approach to structuring and executing project plans
  • Critical thinking capabilities for diagnosing and solving problems
  • Creative and logical thinking skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive professional relationships
