Quality Assurance Lead

Location: Hull

An outstanding opportunity has emerged for a seasoned Quality Assurance Lead to join a prominent organization recognized as a leader across various critical sectors. This position is situated within the Oil & Gas, Aviation, Construction, and Engineering domains.

Position Summary:

In the capacity of Quality Assurance Lead, you will oversee and regulate projects alongside their corresponding quality assurance protocols, ensuring the necessary quality assurance, documentation control, and system resources are effectively managed to support project objectives.

Your role will involve establishing, communicating, and applying quality control systems that remain effective, ensuring the delivery of 'right first time' products and services that meet both business and customer expectations, while maintaining quality, reliability, and performance standards. You will also be responsible for managing the necessary QA/QC resources throughout projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee audit findings, non-conformities, observations, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct internal audits in line with the established project audit schedule and generate reports based on audit results.
  • Develop and review Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, and related QA documentation.
  • Collaborate with Project Quality Control inspectors to validate the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions for any non-conformities or audit findings.
  • Promote a 'Right First Time' philosophy towards quality and safety, ensuring that quality performance is monitored and reviewed against established KPIs.
  • Supervise quality operations to guarantee adherence to all documentation and specifications, ensuring that subcontractors and suppliers meet company and project standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong background in Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control.
  • Experience in developing project QA documentation (Quality Plans, ITPs, etc.) and reviewing supplier QA documentation.
  • Knowledge of pipework, steelwork, and insulation is desirable.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems in regulated environments such as construction, petrochemical, and aerospace.
  • Comprehensive understanding of how to conduct internal audits of management systems and effectively communicate outcomes.
  • Familiarity with KPIs and performance monitoring techniques.
  • Ability to interpret ISO Management System Standards, technical drawings, and specifications is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a highly regulated industry (petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Aviation, Construction).
  • Essential: Recognized and current Internal Auditor qualification (IRCA).
  • Essential: Recognized quality qualification/certification.
  • Desirable: Welding knowledge (CSWIP 3.1).
