About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced DBT Therapist to join our dynamic team, providing specialized care to children and young people facing mental health challenges. You will play a crucial role in delivering evidence-based psychological therapies, with a particular focus on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties, tailoring treatment plans to their unique needs.
  • Implement DBT interventions effectively, guiding individuals and families towards improved emotional regulation, interpersonal skills, and distress tolerance.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including clinicians, educators, and social workers, to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
  • Provide expert consultation to colleagues and external agencies on DBT principles and best practices.
  • Actively participate in supervision sessions to enhance clinical skills and address professional challenges.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in assessing and treating children and young people with a range of mental health conditions, utilizing evidence-based psychological therapies, particularly DBT.
  • Demonstrated expertise in DBT assessment and application, ensuring interventions are tailored to individual needs.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures for children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to effectively consult with other professionals and non-professional groups, sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Exceptional skills in assessing and evaluating risk associated with mental health concerns.

Desirable Criteria

  • Advanced practitioner skills in DBT, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in delivering interventions.
  • Knowledge of assessment for DBT, ensuring comprehensive evaluations are conducted.
