About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Linden Lodge School, a leading provider of education for children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties and sensory impairment.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work as part of our integrated, multi-disciplinary therapy team, providing specialist occupational therapy provision to support the needs of our children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on occupational therapy services to children and young people with a wide range of occupational performance difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and families/carers to implement occupational therapy strategies and approaches.
  • Assess, diagnose, and implement appropriate management plans for children with complex neurodevelopmental disabilities and sensory impairment.
  • Prescribe specialist equipment to support occupational engagement and participation.
  • Develop and maintain a high standard of assessment, treatment, and advice to children, young people, and their families.
Person Specification

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including observation, listening, and empathy skills.
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation, analytical, and reflection skills.
  • Understanding of the roles of other professionals and ability to work collaboratively within a variety of teams and organisations.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to others where there may be barriers to understanding.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised Occupational Therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Health Care Professions Council and a Licence to Practice.
  • Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses up to Masters degree or equivalent.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
