About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Recovery Worker to join our Mental Health & Complex Needs Service at Hestia Housing Support. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in empowering service users to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Empower service users to engage effectively with professionals in the community, including community mental health teams, social work teams, and health professionals.
  • Develop and lead co-produced group activities, peer support networks, and community-based approaches to support service users in achieving their goals.
  • Monitor the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of the service and its users, ensuring all concerns are addressed promptly and in line with procedures.
  • Assist the manager in managing health and safety, repairs, and maintenance of the premises.
  • Collect rents and service charges, and manage arrears proactively to support residents in maintaining their tenancy and developing independent living skills.
  • Support the Team Manager and Senior Recovery Worker in managing voids across the service.
  • Empower service users to develop independent living skills as part of a planned move-on process.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of working with individuals who have experienced mental health and/or dual diagnosis issues.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting individuals with a range of mental health conditions, including crisis management, effective communication, and dignity and respect.
  • Knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation, such as the Care Program Approach (CPA) processes.
  • Understanding of the principles of recovery as an ethos and a range of recovery approaches.
  • Awareness of health and safety issues.
  • Ability to work Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
