About the Role

Aon is seeking a Catastrophe Analyst to join our Global Reinsurance Specialty (GRS) Analytics team in London. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in providing clients with expert advice on their exposures to natural disasters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support clients with analytics, reports, and presentations to help them understand their risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with brokers and actuaries to review modeling results, explain limitations, and resolve issues.
  • Develop and provide technical solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Run client portfolios through natural catastrophe models to quantify risk.
  • Undertake sensitivity testing to help clients understand the impact of data quality and assumptions.
  • Collaborate with academic and industry partners to validate and create innovative solutions.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in catastrophe modeling or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of vendor cat models (RMS and Verisk).
  • Understanding of the science of natural catastrophes and ability to validate and interpret modelled loss estimates.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and good communication skills.
  • Project management skills with the ability to work in a team and independently.
