Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled clinical or counselling psychologist to take on a leadership role in enhancing a high-quality, responsive, and accessible Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) psychology program. This position involves shaping and implementing a comprehensive vision for the service, aimed at supporting children, young individuals, their families, and caregivers.
The successful candidate will join a well-established team within the Swansea Bay Child Psychology Department, which has recently integrated with the Psychology and Psychological Therapy Team. This collaboration has resulted in the creation of multiple new roles, fostering a robust professional framework and encouraging strong inter-professional relationships.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead a team of psychologists and psychological therapists within CAMHS, ensuring effective management structures and clinical governance.
- Collaborate with the Head of Child Psychology on recruitment for additional funded positions.
- Provide both direct and indirect clinical services, delivering a variety of psychological interventions tailored to children, young people, and their support networks.
- Participate in the Clinical Leads team for CAMHS, ensuring that service strategies and developments are informed by psychological principles.
- Establish systems for service evaluation and clinical governance, supporting the professional growth of team members through supervision and mentorship.
