As an Administrative Coordinator within the Gastroenterology Division, you will be essential in assisting healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding patient services. The ideal candidate will interact with patients, healthcare providers, and various staff members, ensuring exceptional service and meticulous attention to detail. Regular collaboration with the secretarial management team and departmental service manager will be part of your role. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, along with a proactive attitude, are crucial.

This position is offered on a fixed-term basis for up to 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

A solid understanding of IT systems is necessary, as you will utilize various software applications. You should be empathetic, efficient, diligent, and resilient.

This position will keep you engaged and active as you work closely with colleagues to support the clinical team, including Consultants, junior doctors, and specialist nurses.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated good general education, including GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English
  • Training in office software applications
  • NVQ3 in Business & Administration or equivalent
  • NVQ 4 in administration or equivalent
  • ECDL certification
Experience
  • Recent secretarial experience in a busy office setting
  • Record maintenance skills
  • Experience within the NHS
  • Prior experience in a medical secretarial role
Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with a multidisciplinary team

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, necessitating a Disclosure submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service for any previous criminal convictions.

Salary range: £22,816 to £24,336 per annum, pro rata.
