The Role

The successful candidate will be an autonomous expert clinician working in a clinical specialist role, managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning, and discharge.

Key responsibilities include introducing new approaches to physiotherapy access and process, increasing the focus on health promotion and self-management.

The post holder will provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives, and carers within and outside the service.

Liaison with and referral to other social and health services will be essential to provide comprehensive patient management and optimize outcomes.

Maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and quality assurance in the service area will be a key responsibility.

The post holder will implement research, audit, and develop a service that responds to national initiatives, policies, and clinical governance.

What We're Looking For
  • Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
  • Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice demonstrating the required breadth of knowledge
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality
  • Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice
  • Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in the speciality and applying clinical judgement
  • Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership
  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the area of speciality
  • Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate and influence others
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Masters degree in specialist area
  • Member of relevant specialist interest group
  • Member of CSP
  • Multi-disciplinary work experience
  • Research and audit experience
  • Supervision skills
Contract and Working Pattern

This is a part-time post, and the salary will be pro-rata.

The role will be based in Chronic Pain – Physiotherapy within NHS Lanarkshire Wide.
