The post holder will be an autonomous expert clinician working in a clinical specialist, managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning, and discharge.
Key Responsibilities- Introduce new approaches to physiotherapy access and process, increasing the focus on health promotion and self-management.
- Provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives, and carers within and outside the service.
- Liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient management and optimize outcomes.
- Maintain and improve all aspects of clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and quality assurance in the service area in conjunction with the care group lead.
- Implement research, audit, and develop a service that responds to national initiatives, policies, and clinical governance.
NHS Lanarkshire is a healthcare organization that serves a population of 655,000 across rural and urban communities in North and South Lanarkshire. We provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.
What We're Looking For- Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration.
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
- Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
- Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice, ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilized to deliver leadership within the speciality.
- Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in the speciality and applying clinical judgement.
- Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the area of speciality, including study days/courses/postgraduate qualification.
- The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative.
- Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
- Masters degree in specialist area.
- Member of relevant specialist interest group.
- Member of CSP.
- Multi-disciplinary work experience.
- Research and audit experience.
- Supervision skills.
This is a part-time post, and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working PatternThis role will be based in Chronic Pain – Physiotherapy within NHS Lanarkshire Wide.
