About the Role

The post holder will be an autonomous expert clinician working in a clinical specialist, managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning, and discharge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Introduce new approaches to physiotherapy access and process, increasing the focus on health promotion and self-management.
  • Provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives, and carers within and outside the service.
  • Liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient management and optimize outcomes.
  • Maintain and improve all aspects of clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and quality assurance in the service area in conjunction with the care group lead.
  • Implement research, audit, and develop a service that responds to national initiatives, policies, and clinical governance.

What We're Looking For
  • Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
  • Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
  • Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice, ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilized to deliver leadership within the speciality.
  • Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in the speciality and applying clinical judgement.
  • Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the area of speciality, including study days/courses/postgraduate qualification.
  • The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Masters degree in specialist area.
  • Member of relevant specialist interest group.
  • Member of CSP.
  • Multi-disciplinary work experience.
  • Research and audit experience.
  • Supervision skills.
Contract and Working Pattern

This is a part-time post, and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Chronic Pain – Physiotherapy within NHS Lanarkshire Wide.
