The Role

The successful candidate will be an autonomous expert clinician working in a clinical specialist role, managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning, and discharge.

They will be responsible for introducing new approaches to physiotherapy access and processes, increasing the focus on health promotion and self-management.

The post holder will provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives, and carers within and outside the service.

They will liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient management and optimize outcomes.

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and quality assurance in the service area in conjunction with the care group lead.

They will implement research, audit, and develop a service that responds to national initiatives, policies, and clinical governance.

What We're Looking For
  • Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
  • Postgraduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality
  • Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice
  • Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement
  • Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership
  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/postgraduate qualification
  • Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Masters degree in specialist area
  • Member of relevant specialist interest group
  • Member of CSP
  • Multi-disciplinary work experience
  • Research and audit experience
  • Supervision skills
Contract Type and Location

This is a part-time post, and the salary will be pro-rata.

The role will be based in Chronic Pain – Physiotherapy within NHS Lanarkshire Wide.
