About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Modelling Assistant Manager to join our Deals & Business Consulting team at Grant Thornton. As a key member of our financial modelling community, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality financial models and tools to our clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models and tools for clients, including forecasting and business planning models.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to design and develop financial models, ensuring technical excellence and brand compliance.
  • Review and refine financial models built by junior team members, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality output.
  • Engage with clients and colleagues to discuss model results and implications, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development of model design discussions and prepare model specification documents.
  • Prepare engagement letters for review by senior team members.
  • Attend client meetings, build rapport, and develop lasting relationships based on trust and quality work.
  • Contribute to reports prepared by other Advisory teams.
Requirements
  • Experience in a directly comparable Big 4 or similar modelling team.
  • Currently holding a manager or equivalent grade.
  • Excellent Excel proficiency and familiarity with advanced techniques.
  • Strong understanding of modelling best practice ideas.
  • Highly numerate with strong communication skills.
  • Strong accounting skills and understanding of cash and working capital cycles.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a numerate degree.
  • ACA or CA qualified or equivalent.
Desirable Skills
  • Logical approach to problem-solving, attention to detail.
  • Focus on self-development as well as having the desire to coach, mentor, and develop colleagues.
  • Experience of infrastructure or fund modelling.
  • Commercially focused with the ability to deliver innovative solutions.
