We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Porter to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital services, providing a high-quality patient experience, and supporting our clinical teams.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting patients, goods, and equipment throughout the hospital, using a range of vehicles and equipment. You will work closely with our clinical teams to ensure that patients receive the best possible care, and that our hospital services run efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Transport patients, goods, and equipment throughout the hospital, using a range of vehicles and equipment.
- Work closely with clinical teams to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
- Provide a high-quality patient experience, ensuring that patients are treated with dignity and respect.
- Support the provision of clinical services, including the movement of patients and goods.
- Use equipment and machinery as directed, including vehicles, powered movers, and electrical equipment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with a range of people, including patients and clinical staff.
- Ability to organize and prioritize day-to-day tasks.
- Flexibility to work across a range of departments and areas.
- Previous experience of mechanical equipment.
- Full driving license.
- Experience of manual handling.
- Experience with medical gases.
