About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing an efficient and effective portering service to patients, staff, and visitors across our trust sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a high-quality portering service, ensuring the safe and timely movement of patients, goods, and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with ward staff, hospital departments, and other teams to ensure seamless patient care and efficient hospital operations.
  • Operate a range of equipment, including vehicles, powered movers, and manual handling equipment, in accordance with trust policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors, providing a positive and respectful experience.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment, adhering to trust policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or environment is desirable but not essential.
