Job Title: Porter Team Member

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Porter Team Member to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Porter Team Member, you will play a vital role in providing an efficient and effective portering service to patients, staff, and visitors across our trust sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a high-quality portering service, ensuring the safe and timely movement of patients, goods, and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with the Porter Supervisors, Hotel Services Managers, and other hospital staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Use radio/pager communication systems and respond promptly to calls.
  • Adhere to Trust and Local procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in on-call rotas, if required, to provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence.
Requirements:
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work across various departments and areas, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
