Job Title: Porter Team Member

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Porter Team Member to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Porter Team Member, you will play a vital role in providing an efficient and effective portering service to patients, staff, and visitors across our trust sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a high-quality portering service, ensuring the safe and timely movement of patients, goods, and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with the Porter Supervisors, Hotel Services Managers, and other hospital staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the hospital's layout, services, and procedures to provide an excellent service.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming service.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment, adhering to infection control and health and safety protocols.
Requirements:
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Flexibility to work across a range of departments and areas, including unsociable hours.
  • Previous experience in a similar environment is desirable, but not essential.
