Job Summary:

UNISON is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the Human Resources and Staff Learning Department. As a key member of our Senior Management Group, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the union's people strategy, which encompasses well-being, engagement, policy and process development, HR operations, industrial relations management, EDI, and staff learning & development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the union on key HR and Staff Learning projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to support the union's people strategy.
  • Manage the HR operations, including recruitment, talent management, and employee relations.
  • Lead the development and implementation of EDI initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the union.
  • Collaborate with the National Executive Council Committees to ensure alignment with the union's overall strategy.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
