Commitment to Diversity
We are dedicated to creating a brand that reflects the diversity of our global community. Your contributions matter, and we continuously seek to broaden our perspectives and voices to shape our future.
We acknowledge you, we celebrate you, and we welcome you.
About Us
While you may recognize us as the creators of the bath bomb, our family-run, employee-owned company is much more than that. We believe in giving back to the world more than we take and proving that business can be a force for good.

We proudly adhere to the Living Wage Foundation's principle that 'a hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay' in the UK. As an accredited Living Wage employer, we prioritize our people and combat unethical practices like animal testing, promote sustainability, and emphasize that the essence of our products matters most—whether it's the ingredients in our offerings or the materials in a device.

The Legal Team

We are a compact yet highly effective team providing legal counsel across various sectors of our global enterprise, including corporate, commercial, media, technology, intellectual property licensing, litigation, finance, and compliance on an international scale.
We are in search of a proactive legal professional to deliver exceptional commercial and employment law support throughout our global operations. As the primary advisor for our human resources team, you will manage everything from crafting comprehensive contracts to overseeing intricate tribunal matters. Utilize your advisory expertise, negotiation capabilities, and project management skills to ensure compliance and keep us ahead of industry developments. If you are prepared to make a substantial impact in a dynamic environment, we would like to hear from you.
In return, we offer an engaging role where each day presents new challenges.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this position, with an expectation of flexibility to attend the office approximately three times a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily support and guidance to the organization on all aspects of commercial and employment law across various jurisdictions (sourcing external legal counsel when necessary).
  • Act as a subject matter expert on UK employment matters, serving as a point of contact across the organization (especially for our HR team).
  • Offer advice to our HR team on all aspects of human resources, including grievances, disciplinary actions, investigations, settlements, employment tribunal litigation, redundancies, and whistleblowing.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment and consultancy agreements, ensuring they are legally sound and compliant with current legislation.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate settlement agreements, outlining potential options and assessing associated risks.
  • Advise on and assist with the creation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Produce know-how documents, guidance materials, and templates for the team on key areas of employment law.
  • Stay informed about international legislation that may impact the organization across various jurisdictions. Experience with EU legislation and directives is desirable.
  • Assist with various employment-related projects within the organization, developing a legal roadmap to ensure successful project completion.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Ideally, a qualified lawyer with a minimum of 1+ years of post-qualification experience in employment law, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize, and manage complex workloads under tight deadlines while being a collaborative team member.
  • Strong advisory skills for providing daily guidance on legal matters.
  • Proficient in offering strategic advice to HR teams on employment-related issues.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK employment law.
  • Familiarity with commercial law principles.
  • Knowledge of EU legislation and directives.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws across multiple jurisdictions.

Since our inception in 1995, we have been driven by innovation and ethical practices.
Creators of groundbreaking beauty products such as the fizzing bath bomb, shower jellies, and solid shampoo bars, we prioritize fresh ingredients like organic fruits and vegetables, oppose animal testing, and combat over-packaging by developing products that can be sold 'naked' to customers without any packaging.

We currently operate in 52 countries with 928 global shops. Through our various business divisions, we invent, manufacture, and sell our handmade products directly to our customers through our own shops and online. The fact that we produce all our products by hand is something we take great pride in.

Lush has been 10% Employee Owned since 2017, and our people are the heart and soul of our business.

In the UK, we have offices located in Poole, Dorset, and Soho, London.
