About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Researcher to join our interdisciplinary research team at the University of Liverpool. As a Lecturer in Health Data Science, you will contribute to teaching and research, focusing on the application of causal inference and machine learning/AI techniques to drive innovation in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching and research programs in health data science, with a focus on causal inference and machine learning/AI techniques.
  • Contribute to the development of a teaching portfolio and your own research program, aligned with the University's strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the University and industry partners to drive research and innovation in healthcare.
  • Supervise PhD students and provide academic leadership within the Department of Health Data Science.
  • Attract external research funding to support your research program and contribute to the University's research income.
Requirements
  • PhD in Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related area with a strong focus on data science.
  • Proven track record of teaching and research excellence in health data science, with a focus on causal inference and machine learning/AI techniques.
  • Experience of working at the interface of academia and industry, creating research ideas and approaches that address real-world challenges in healthcare.
  • Strong academic leadership skills, with experience of supervising PhD students and contributing to departmental and university-wide initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the University and industry partners.
