Role Overview:

The primary objective of this position is to formulate and spearhead the human capital strategy for the designated practice group and related business services teams. The Senior HR Business Partner (SHRBP) will deliver comprehensive HR generalist support from both a strategic and operational standpoint.

The SHRBP will collaborate closely with partners and people managers, serving as a trusted advisor to ensure that the human capital agenda is integrated into all business decisions. Additionally, they will work in conjunction with colleagues across the broader HR team.

The SHRBP will also provide guidance and mentorship to the HR Business Partner, for whom they hold line management responsibility, as well as the HR advisor, ensuring consistently high standards of HR service delivery for their stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Capital Strategy and Solutions

  • Engage with key stakeholders within the client group to understand essential business objectives and develop a comprehensive human capital strategy.
  • Continuously assess business performance and initiate discussions with client groups regarding necessary HR actions.
  • Actively participate in management meetings; advise, challenge, and support client group leaders on HR-related matters.
  • Establish and maintain robust business relationships within client groups to become a trusted advisor on all HR issues.
  • Champion the integration of HR systems across the employee lifecycle.

Business Enhancement

  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to develop and implement various local and global HR initiatives.
  • Work alongside the HR generalist team, partners, and line managers to execute business enhancements, HR policies, and processes.
  • Promote the HR operating model and encourage effective and efficient working practices.
  • Challenge partners and leaders on cultural values and working practices, leading necessary change processes.

Talent Management and Development

  • Drive the identification and development of key talent within client groups to enable individuals to reach their potential and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Support designated client group leaders with talent management and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with the talent center of excellence in designing and facilitating development activities as needed.

Engagement and Communication

  • Assist partners and line managers in enhancing communication initiatives and processes to improve employee engagement.
  • Foster positive working relationships with HR operations and centers of expertise to deliver seamless HR services.

Performance and Reward

  • Oversee the management of appraisal and remuneration processes for client groups.
  • Coach partners and line managers to enhance performance management capabilities.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous feedback and recognition within client groups.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as an escalation point for managing complex performance, grievance, and disciplinary issues.
  • Stay informed on employment legislation and employee relations issues to provide informed guidance to partners and line managers.

HR Transactions

  • Oversee the execution of HR lifecycle transactions including onboarding, employee transitions, and leave requests.

Key Requirements:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role at a strategic and senior level.
  • Able to resolve operational matters while advancing long-term human capital strategies.
  • Experience in driving change with complex stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • High personal resilience and ability to navigate resistance to change.
  • Proficient in English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with HR databases and Excel.

Desirable:

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Experience with HR systems.
  • Background in professional services organizations.
