We are seeking compassionate and caring individuals to join our Shared Lives Carer team at Wigan Council. As a Shared Lives Carer, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a vulnerable adult, providing support and companionship in a mutually beneficial relationship.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emotional support and companionship to a vulnerable adult
- Assist with daily living tasks and activities
- Help the individual to develop their skills and aspirations
- Support the individual to participate in their local community
- Be over the age of 18
- Have a minimum of 4 hours per week to spare
- Have a spare bedroom (for long-term and short-break/respite support)
- Be caring and want to develop new relationships
- A modest payment for your time and expenses
- Free training
- Support from our Shared Lives team
- Opportunity to build experience in caring
