About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and caring individuals to join our Shared Lives Carer team at Wigan Council. As a Shared Lives Carer, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a vulnerable adult, providing support and companionship in a mutually beneficial relationship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to a vulnerable adult
  • Assist with daily living tasks and activities
  • Help the individual to develop their skills and aspirations
  • Support the individual to participate in their local community
Requirements
  • Be over the age of 18
  • Have a minimum of 4 hours per week to spare
  • Have a spare bedroom (for long-term and short-break/respite support)
  • Be caring and want to develop new relationships
