We are partnering with a local authority in a London borough to assist with the appointment of a Housing Advice and Homeless Prevention Specialist on a short-term contract, with the possibility of extension. Please submit your CV for consideration.

Compensation: Hourly Rate

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively delivering housing options advice, including security of tenure, low-cost home ownership, and preventing homelessness, by investigating household circumstances and undertaking statutory assessments to determine the best options and resources available on a case-by-case basis.
  • The postholder will ensure statutory requirements are met and local team targets are delivered through case work.
  • To actively support the management of the service, delivering a professional, responsive, and individualized service to residents requiring housing advice, and exploring and signposting to housing options.
  • Be able to provide advice on a range of housing options, including low-cost home ownership, which promotes self-service independence and prevents homelessness.

Requirements:

  • Hold an appropriate qualification in a relevant field: NVQ Diploma, relevant degree, or relevant experience.
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
  • Experience of working in a front-facing team, interviewing and assessing clients with a need for assistance.

  • You should be available to start work immediately or at short notice.
  • You should have the right to work in the UK.
  • This role requires an enhanced DBS check.
