Job Summary

The Opportunity

Leonardo is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development and Sales professional to join our team. As a key member of our Business Development and Sales team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding our customer base in the UK, US, and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet forecast targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Lead and/or support bid activity, working closely with Integrated Campaign Teams and other functional areas.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, end users, and industrial partners.
  • Coordinate and manage opportunities, ensuring accurate reporting to senior management.
  • Utilize the Leonardo Business Winning process to prosecute campaigns and drive sales growth.
  • Provide input and support for communications events, including exhibitions, demonstrations, and conferences.

Requirements

  • Relevant sector experience and commercial knowledge, particularly in the defense and aerospace industry.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated, with the ability to set short and long-term planning goals.
  • Innovative thinker able to anticipate and overcome problems in a complex international sales environment.
  • Excellent communications skills, capable of confidently briefing to senior stakeholders.
  • Commercially and financially aware, with experience of negotiating and closing complex deals in the international marketplace.
  • Output-oriented with a focus on achieving clear and ambitious goals.
  • Significant experience in developing, managing, and leading key sales or strategic campaigns within the defense or other comparable sectors.
  • Knowledge of international trade compliance regulations and export control procedures.
  • Able to write compelling marketing content and proposals.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to lead a team to successfully deliver quality output during high-pressure bid and customer response activity.
