Job Title: Children's Deputy Manager

King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a leading healthcare provider in the UK, delivering high-quality services to patients and staff. We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as a Children's Deputy Manager in the Dispensary Service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Dispensary Manager in the provision of operational aspects of the dispensary service, including inpatients, outpatients, and controlled drugs.
  • Deputise as necessary in the management of the service, ensuring that all dispensary staff work to a high standard in providing quality pharmacy services.
  • Organise and manage the provision of all dispensary-based services, including inpatients, outpatients, and controlled drugs, to agreed performance targets.
  • Lead, coach, and manage the performance of the team in line with good people management practices.
  • Promote pharmaceutical care for all patients.
  • Investigate pharmacy errors relating to the Dispensary and suggest strategies to minimize or eliminate risk.
  • Participate in regular performance appraisal meetings and ensure each member of the team has a clear set of objectives and development plans.
  • Ensure the team is compliant with all statutory, mandatory training, and professional training requirements.
  • Manage team absences, including sickness, in line with Trust policy.
  • Identify and fill any vacancies that arise within the team in line with the Trust's recruitment policy and process.
  • Identify talent and support the internal talent management process to attract, retain, and succession plan for your people.
  • Line manage staff, including allocated band 3 and band 5 dispensary staff.
Requirements:
  • Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Experience of training and supervision of pharmacy staff.
  • Direct Line management of staff.
  • Practice Supervisor Training or equivalent.
