About the Role:

Yokogawa UK Ltd is seeking a highly driven System Engineer (DCS & Safety) to join our team in Aberdeen, Scotland. As a key member of our Customer Centric Team, you will provide first-class support and technical expertise to our customers in the Industrial Automation sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project initiation and system design, including SIL classification
  • Project planning, commissioning, and Site Acceptance Test
  • Ensuring customer acceptance and handover of systems, with authorized documents
  • Monitoring and controlling the quality of work
  • Formalizing project closures

Technical Expertise:

  • DCS software configuration and user requirement specifications
  • Alarm rationalization and EEMUA 191 understanding
  • Continuous Process control and Batch process software programming
  • Functional Safety SIL classifications and SIF calculations
  • Supervising or implementing detailed design, including function block programming
  • Modifying existing safety systems and impact analysis
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a structured team
  • Conducting internal testing, executing or leading the Factory Acceptance Test
  • Taking responsibility for system transition to site and managing site installation
  • Conducting Site Acceptance Test and ensuring system handover, completing necessary documents and formalizing project closures
  • Confident communication and professional manner, with ability to absorb and impart factual information
  • A positive self-starter with drive to achieve results in a friendly manner, while maintaining quality and standards
  • Compliance with Yokogawa procedures

Requirements:

  • Highly motivated and flexible individual, willing to work in an international-oriented company
  • Respect, collaboration, and integrity are essential values
  • Experience in a similar role within the oil & gas / petrochemical / Industrial Automation environment
  • TUV Functional Safety Certificate or demonstrable knowledge
  • Minimum HNC qualification in an engineering or process-related subject
  • Practical knowledge of Management Systems such as ISO9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, and ISO45001
  • Full UK driving license
