Position: Band 8b Lead Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling)

Work Location: Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

Working Hours: 30 hours per week (minimum 3 days)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership in collaboration with the Consultant Lead Psychologist.
  • Manage multidisciplinary team referrals and oversee service capacity.
  • Guide and mentor a team of psychological professionals.
  • Enhance and maintain established psychology meeting frameworks.
  • Engage in direct clinical practice, delivering evidence-based interventions.
  • Participate in training, supervision, and the advancement of psychological methodologies.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Doctoral-level education in applied psychology.
  • Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the relevant professional body.
  • Extensive experience in managing complex mental health cases.
  • In-depth understanding of mental health legislation.
  • Strong knowledge of psychological therapies and assessment techniques.
  • Experience in supervising fellow psychologists.
