About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner Psychologist or Senior Specialist Psychological Therapist to join our team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to take on a leadership role and contribute to the delivery of high-quality psychological services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological therapy services to individuals, carers, families, and groups, adhering to best practice and trust care pathways.
  • Manage a clinical caseload, exercising autonomous professional responsibility for assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients.
  • Take clinical management decisions in complex clinical issues, utilizing analytical and judgment skills.
  • Supervise assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists, and junior psychologists, providing guidance and support.
  • Contribute to the development, evaluation, and monitoring of team operational policies and services, deploying professional skills in research, service evaluation, and audit.
  • Undertake service evaluation, audit, and research, disseminating results within the service and nationally.
Requirements
  • Recognized postgraduate level training in a psychological therapy, as specified in the Appendix.
  • Professionally registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Substantial post-qualification experience of specialist psychological therapy, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in complex and emotive situations.
  • High-level specialist knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapy, as applied to the client group.
  • Experience of working with the full range of clinical severity served by the service.
