Position Overview

The role of the Deputy Chief Nursing Information Officer involves providing essential nursing knowledge and leadership in the realm of Digital Nursing.

Key Responsibilities

The post holder will:

  1. Support healthcare providers and local systems in enhancing service delivery.
  2. Ensure that nursing and midwifery professionals possess the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in a digitally advanced health and social care environment.
  3. Act as a credible leader in both clinical and digital nursing, promoting the organization's values.
  4. Collaborate closely with nursing teams and various organizational directorates and regions.
  5. Contribute to the Digital Nursing Team within the Digital Clinical Informatics Team, facilitating national initiatives in partnership with regional stakeholders and service providers.
  6. Identify and analyze existing gaps in digital nursing, focusing on both practice and research.
  7. Work collaboratively to establish effective strategies for enhancing quality in safety, effectiveness, and patient experience.
  8. Lead the digital nursing initiative, ensuring it aligns with the overarching digital nursing vision.
  9. Develop a comprehensive plan detailing the responsibilities of the role, including risk management, resource allocation, and contingency planning.
  10. Participate in the strategic planning processes of the organization, adapting activities as necessary to meet priorities.
  11. Promote and implement best practices in digital nursing at both organizational and departmental levels.
  12. Create, manage, and revise policies and procedures to ensure adherence to best practice methodologies and standards.
