About the Role:
The Transportation Manager will report to the Operations Director and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the transport fleet. This includes coordinating drivers, distributing workload, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Director to achieve operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the transport fleet to ensure efficient and safe operations
- Develop and implement strategies to improve transportation efficiency and reduce costs
- Collaborate with drivers and dispatch teams to ensure accurate route planning and execution
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure transportation performance
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
About You:
- You must have a valid New Zealand class 4 driver's license
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team of drivers and dispatchers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve transportation-related issues
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities
