Field Service Engineer Position

Purpose of the Field Service Engineer Role:

The primary responsibility is to deliver aftersales support for a variety of electric vehicles at diverse locations and customer facilities. This includes servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and ensuring prompt resolutions. There may be a need to extend aftersales support across the designated service area and occasionally provide assistance in other regions as required.

Due to the nature of the products supported, initial training will take place at the production facility, necessitating temporary travel away from home.

This position may involve occasional overnight stays away from home, with reasonable notice provided.

Key Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer:

  • Conduct all aspects of PSV maintenance, inspections, fault diagnostics, and repairs at customer locations or, if necessary, at the service center. Utilize the latest technical guides and documentation to ensure efficient and cost-effective repairs.
  • Collaborate with customers, call center personnel, and parts staff to report issues and order necessary spare parts to facilitate timely job completion. Ensure accurate and legible job write-ups and reports, obtaining necessary authorizations from authorized depot personnel before leaving the site.
  • Scan completed job cards to the service center for processing on the same day of completion or as soon as feasible thereafter.
  • Actively participate in product training sessions as required.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, maintaining awareness of surroundings and local engineering standards.
  • Assist customers with servicing and repairs to enhance their understanding of the products.

Essential Qualifications for the Field Service Engineer:

  • Possession of a full driving license and PSV license.
  • Minimum City & Guilds Level 3 in vehicle maintenance or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong electrical and computer-based diagnostic skills.
  • Competence in EV or Hybrid systems, including high voltage training related to DC electrical systems.
  • Able to work independently and without supervision.
