Acoustical Research Scientist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Acoustical Higher Scientist to join our Ultrasound and Underwater Acoustics Group at the National Physical Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing new techniques for underwater acoustic measurement and calibration, as well as delivering NPL's scientific work and contributing to research and development projects.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new techniques for underwater acoustic measurement and calibration
- Deliver NPL's scientific work, including the delivery of measurement services and contributing to research and development projects
- Contribute to scientific outputs through journal publications and scientific conferences
- Share your knowledge and expertise with colleagues and mentor those with less experience
- Develop partnerships to strengthen our capability and act as an ambassador for our work externally
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced scientist with a strong background in acoustics and metrology. You will have a proven track record of precise experimental work and a strong aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving. You will also have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
