As a Senior Acoustics Research Scientist, you will be tasked with acquiring new insights to develop solutions that propel our research forward. This role demands a meticulous, systematic approach and a keen attention to detail. Furthermore, should any commercial prospects emerge from your work, it is essential to identify these opportunities, as they are the foundation for new products and services. NPL stands at the forefront of metrology, equipped with specialized facilities, including laboratory tanks and an acoustics pressure vessel. The successful candidates will join NPL during a pivotal growth phase, presenting a remarkable opportunity to maximize the impact of high-caliber scientific endeavors.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Enhancing methodologies for underwater acoustic measurement and calibration utilizing our specialized laboratory resources.
- Creating experimental approaches for acoustic measurement tailored for our clients and partners.
- Executing NPL's scientific initiatives, which include providing measurement services and engaging in research and development projects.
- Contributing to scientific literature through journal articles and participation in scientific conferences.
Additionally, your general duties will include:
