About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Weekend Therapist to work in a dynamic and specialist hand therapy team, providing expert care to adult and paediatric patients with hand and wrist conditions.
As a Weekend Therapist, you will be responsible for managing a complex clinical caseload, working as an autonomous practitioner, and monitoring the caseloads of all hand therapy team members to ensure an efficient and effective hand therapy service.
You will provide treatment to patients in various locations, including hand therapy outpatients, in-patient wards, day surgery/hand management unit, and consultant clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a specialist clinical caseload, working as an autonomous practitioner
- Monitor the caseloads of all hand therapy team members
- Provide treatment to patients in various locations
- Undertake highly specialised hand therapy assessments and incorporate into treatment sessions
- Carry out highly specialist diagnostic assessments on request from consultants
- Monitor and evaluate treatment to measure progress and ensure effectiveness
- Support more junior staff in the development of their assessment, treatment, and clinical reasoning skills
