Job Title: Specialist Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Therapist to join our team at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. As a Specialist Therapist, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with complex hand and plastic surgery conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and diagnose patients with advanced clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based knowledge.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Lead to monitor and evaluate work and current practice through evidence-based projects, audits, and outcome measures.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation, records, and statistical information to reflect the care provided and meet professional and hospital standards.
  • Ensure that patients have consented to Hand Therapy assessment and therapeutic interventions in line with hospital policy and professional codes of conduct.
Person Specification:
  • BSc (hons) degree in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy or diploma or equivalent.
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration for Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
  • Evidence of postgraduate professional development in hand therapy specialism.
  • Experience of working with complex plastic and orthopaedic hand surgery.
  • Highly skilled in hand therapy splinting and post-operative wound care.
