Position Title: National Compliance Manager (Transport)

Location: Primarily based in Swindon, with necessary travel to various UK locations.

Role Overview:
This is a unique opportunity to join a highly regarded organization recognized for its commitment to sustainable logistics. As a key member of the team, reporting directly to the National Fleet & Compliance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring adherence to compliance standards across all transport operations.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining the fleet in accordance with legal and safety regulations, collaborating closely with the National Fleet & Compliance Manager to achieve excellence in transport compliance.


This position is ideal for an experienced Transport / Fleet Compliance Manager eager to leverage their expertise and enthusiasm for compliance within a forward-thinking organization, significantly impacting the company's transport and fleet operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Management: Oversee the implementation and management of Fleet & Compliance management software across the organization. Assist the National Fleet & Compliance Manager with various fleet management tasks.
  • Compliance Assurance: Guarantee that all fleet operations meet regulatory standards. Conduct regular audits, create and deliver training programs for drivers, and address any compliance issues that arise.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and support the fleet and administrative team. Mentor and develop your direct reports to enhance performance and establish succession plans.
  • Operational Efficiency: Manage the fleet budget, track expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost savings. Analyze compliance performance and report findings, pinpointing areas for improvement.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience and understanding of transport operations.
  • Prior experience in a transport or fleet compliance management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of transport compliance regulations.
  • Experience managing budgets and driving financial accountability within teams.
  • National CPC certification (essential).
  • A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ideally, experience within central transport functions.
  • Technically adept, with solid knowledge of transport management systems.
  • Dedicated to fostering continuous improvement through process and procedure development.
