About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee the end-to-end group sector Transport function. As the Transport General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Transport operation, managing a team of over 300 employees across the site, encompassing over 500+ vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport Operations: Oversee the end-to-end group sector Transport function, ensuring seamless coordination and optimisation of logistics operations from an internal synergy and Continuous Improvement perspective.
  • Team Management: Manage a Transport team of over 300 employees, providing developmental opportunities and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Planning and Budgeting: Lead the National Planning agenda through a team of 6 planning experts, assume responsibility for the Transport Health & Safety, Driver Training & Risk Assessors, and manage an annual budget of c. £50m per year.
  • Compliance and Fleet Maintenance: Lead all operational H&S, Compliance and Fleet Maintenance agendas across the Transport operations, ensuring best practices are implemented and sufficient usage of the TMS & Planning platforms.
  • Business Development: Implement Continuous Improvement initiatives, identify and develop talent within the business, and provide excellent service.
