Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Risk and Insurance Manager to lead our external insurance arrangements, Risk Management Strategy, and Risk Management Champions group.

This role involves managing our self-insurance provision and actuarial assessments, negotiating insurance premiums, and overseeing claims settlements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance and risk management, a degree or equivalent experience, relevant insurance qualifications, and excellent communication skills.

The Council offers a good work-life balance, including flexitime and agile working arrangements, including working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement our Risk Management Strategy
  • Manage our self-insurance provision and actuarial assessments
  • Negotiate insurance premiums and oversee claims settlements
  • Train our team in managing risk

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of insurance and risk management
  • Relevant insurance qualifications and experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
