About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Executive to join our team at Howden. As a Claims Executive, you will be responsible for the proactive management of all claims from inception to resolution, ensuring a high level of professional advice is provided to clients at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend client premises to investigate large or complex losses and provide assistance in resolving cases.
  • Monitor and analyze claim trends to discuss and review with Risk Management.
  • Build and develop close working relationships with senior-level partners, including insurers and loss adjusters.
  • Maintain an open 'early warning' culture to identify and address potential issues and errors of omission.
  • Ensure clear lines of communication throughout the team and share relevant information with the Claims Director and Account Executives.
  • Interact with new business teams to provide assistance in securing new clients and promoting our 'Excellence in Claims' offering.
  • Stay up-to-date with new products and markets.
  • Provide training and mentoring to the team and wider Claims Division.
  • Produce claims reports to ensure best policy presentation prior to renewals and attend client meetings as required.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of main classes of General Insurance and the CII's Code of Ethics and GDPR.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Desirable experience in cross-class products.
  • Responsibility for own personal development and keeping knowledge up-to-date through e-learning, in-house courses, and studying for professional qualifications.

  • Ability to identify and respond appropriately to an individual client's level of understanding.
