Position Overview

We are seeking a committed Supply Chain Coordinator to become a vital part of the Healthshare Group. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong dedication to providing exceptional service while identifying optimal product solutions to maintain budgetary compliance. A solid understanding of clinical governance, including national cleanliness standards and effective inventory management practices, is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted clinical operations, aiming to minimize waste and prevent overstocking.
  • Support operational and clinical teams by collecting and delivering insightful data, reports, and analyses regarding expenditure and contract management.
  • Conduct productive discussions with essential team members to guarantee timely delivery of supplies and equipment.
  • Propose innovative strategies to enhance current processes and address existing challenges.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation and the appropriate disposal and documentation of expired items.
  • Comply with medication management policies and maintain rigorous stock control.
  • Oversee the asset register and facilitate the procurement of new equipment for the clinic.

Job Duties

The Supply Chain Coordinator will collaborate closely with various personnel from operational and clinical teams, suppliers, and other Healthshare locations. Responsibilities include:

  • Verifying that stock levels are sufficient for the upcoming two weeks of clinical activities.
  • Weekly coordination with clinical management to ensure all necessary supplies are ordered.
  • Maintaining inventory records for consumables and medications, including pricing and product codes.
  • Ensuring compliance with national cleanliness standards.
  • Conducting biannual stock audits to identify expiration dates, unused items, and damaged stock, and managing these appropriately.
  • Providing detailed reports on consumable usage, costs, and savings for each service line during monthly reviews with senior leadership.
  • Performing annual audits of the asset register, ensuring all new equipment is tagged and recorded correctly.
  • Assisting with invoicing inquiries alongside the management and finance teams.
  • Researching cost-effective options for acquiring new equipment and presenting findings to senior management.
  • Coordinating with other sites for stock transfers or bulk ordering.
  • Taking charge of problem-solving and resolution efforts.
  • Participating in daily briefings to ensure effective communication with the operations team.
  • Performing any additional tasks as directed by the line manager.

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Previous experience in procurement or inventory management within a healthcare setting is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong grasp of national cleanliness standards relevant to the role.
  • A proactive approach to identifying process improvements.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly with databases and spreadsheets.
