Procurement Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to lead our supply chain strategy and manage our supply base. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering against our supply chain objectives and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day management of our supply base, including stock agreements and monitoring.
- Supplier Management: Implement and manage our Supplier Management Framework to ensure compliance with procurement processes and legal requirements.
- Contract Negotiation: Support our Supply Chain Director with contract negotiations to secure the best possible deals for our business.
- Supplier Sourcing: Identify and secure suppliers, including new and contingency options, to meet our quality, service, cost, and innovation requirements.
- Performance Management: Manage supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure our supply chain runs smoothly.
- Commercial Opportunities: Identify and exploit commercial opportunities through skilled negotiation and supplier relationship management.
- Contract Management: Manage contract agreements for indirect expenditure, such as port contracts, PPE, feed & waste management.
- Strategic Relationships: Develop strategic relationships with suppliers to drive business growth and improve our sustainability journey.
- Market Intelligence: Regularly review and benchmark the global market and existing suppliers to stay ahead of the competition.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional supply chain projects to drive business improvement and innovation.
- Reporting and Analysis: Report monthly on supply chain activities and KPIs to inform business decisions.
- Sustainability: Work cross-functionally to improve our sustainability journey and reduce our environmental impact.
- Flexibility: Be flexible with working hours and locations, including remote work when necessary.
Requirements:
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a Buyer or Procurement Manager role within the UK food industry.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.
- Education: Ideally CIPS qualification or ambition to study towards it, with a good understanding of contract law and procurement processes.
- Personal Attributes: Resilient with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities, with a 'can do' attitude and a strong desire to meet strict targets and deadlines.
- Communication: Effective communication skills at all levels, with a full driving licence and access to own car.
